BUFC D vs Mountains

Sorry for any inaccuracies but too many goals to remember exactly what was what – fine performance though and looking forward to next weekend against the unbeaten Woy Woy where hopefully we’ll have our fave line coach TJ back to organise us.

Mountains 2 Barnstoneworth 35D’s 7

We weren’t expecting to play this weekend with waterlogged grounds, rain sleeting down all week, showers and grey clouds on saturday morning but 20Km away up Mangrove mountain, sunshine, blue skies and a fine pitch – who’d have thought?

This week saw yet another re-arranged defence, midfield and strike force with Tommo away, Gloria working and Ed on the mend but with the return of Bill who’s been sunning himself in Qld and Nigel ‘Kaka” joining the fray at last. We started off sprightly working the flanks well, dominating possession and steaming into a 2 goal lead with fine efforts from Andy and Delboy before a Wimbledon style long punt from our willing opponents bounced over Aarons bemused head and off the crossbar into the path of their un-beknowing striker with Aaron’s unfortunate assistance (slightly girlie slap actually but don’t want to upset our fave Thomas the tank engine driver).

However it was soon 3-1 with West Ham Mark lashing in a penalty for his debut BUFC goal which after 3 laps of honour, he had to take again as the ref had blown for some obscure reason. Fortunately the 2nd attempt also went in! Further drama ensued as Aaron’s bad day continued (say no more) for 3-2 before Andy thumped in a 4th on the stroke of halftime for a 4-2 lead.

The Mountains rallied in the 2nd half belaying their position at the foot of the table but we finished with a late flurry of goals with Jess cracking his 1st goal in awhile, Andy completing a superb hat-rick and John heading in from a peach of a cross from Andy to make the final score 7-2.

Deserved Man of the match was Andy Stuart

performing in front of his in-laws and Robbie the dog who deserves a mention for his very fetching camouflage hoodie outfit. Andy is hoping to be sporting an equally fashionable 2 legged matching outfit next week. Please see Tracy for price and availability.
